Tel Aviv is a modern city that presents a skyscraper along the Ha Yarkon street, which fronts the coast and contains the city' major hotels. It is the commercial and entertainment capitol of Israel. It is the first Hebrew city established in 1909, then called 'Ahuzat Bayit'. It lies along the Mediterranean Sea. Tel Aviv house many institutions of Culture, Art and Entertainment, including several museums, theaters, the Philharmonic Orchestra and many institutions of learning including the Tel Aviv University, libraries and a Dolphinaruim and a Boardwalk.
Tel Aviv is connected to the rest of the world via the International Airport at Lod, 14 km southwest of the city; the port of Ashdod, 31 km to the south and the Port of Haifa 80 Km to the northwest.
